Aamir Khan Will Soon Return to Full Time Acting
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has hinted at a major transformation in his professional journey, revealing that he plans to dedicate himself completely to acting once his current production projects are completed. The announcement, made during the final Fireside Chat at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 27, marks a significant shift for the actor-producer who has spent the past few years balancing work behind and in front of the camera.
“Any Script I Hear Will Be Only for Me as an Actor”
Speaking about his evolving creative priorities, Aamir shared how deeply stories have shaped his choices over the years.
“Stories were the centre of my childhood,” he said, explaining that his desire for fresh, challenging narratives continues to guide him.
He further added that after wrapping up the projects he is currently producing—Lahore 1947, Happy Patel, and a few yet-to-be-announced films—he intends to shift his full attention back to acting.
“Once these productions are complete in the coming months, I’m planning to give myself fully to acting again. From now on, any script I listen to will be with the intention of performing in it,” Aamir stated. – Aamir Khan Will Soon Return to Full Time Acting
Direction Still His Deepest Passion
Though ready to return to the sets as a full-time actor, Aamir admitted that direction continues to be his greatest creative love.
However, he emphasized that directing a film would demand all his time and focus—something he is not ready to give up acting for just yet.
“The day I decide to direct, I will likely step back from acting because direction consumes me entirely. That’s why I’m waiting before taking that plunge,” he said.
IFFI 2025 Comes to a Close
For those unfamiliar, the 56th International Film Festival of India, hosted in Goa, kicked off on November 20 and concludes on November 28, bringing together global cinema enthusiasts, industry leaders, and top talent—including Aamir Khan, who ended the festival on a high note with his major career revelation.
