In a bid to dismiss circulating misconceptions, filmmaker Aditya Dhar has publicly clarified that his upcoming espionage thriller Dhurandhar is not inspired by the life of decorated Indian Army officer Major Mohit Sharma. The director addressed the speculation after Major Sharma’s brother, Madhur Sharma, raised concerns on X (formerly Twitter).
Taking to social media, Dhar shared an official statement, writing,
“Hi sir — our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. If we ever make a biopic on him, it will be done with full consent, complete family involvement, and with utmost respect to his sacrifice. Jai Hind.”

Film Release and Production Details
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar joining as producers. The first song from the film, Ishq Jalakar – Karvaan, was unveiled recently and has already begun trending across platforms.
