Actor Akkshith Sukhija has stepped into the role of Abhishek Dewan, the new male lead in Colors TV and Rajshri Productions’ popular show Manpasand Ki Shaadi, taking over from Akshun Mahajan. Last seen in Star Plus’ Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua, Akkshith is thrilled about this new chapter and is determined to give his absolute best.

Speaking about replacing Akshun, Akkshith admits, “It’s never easy when an actor replaces another in an ongoing show. I’ve seen this happen often in our industry, and it’s always a sensitive situation. But when I found out it was for a Rajshri Productions show on Colors TV, I was honestly excited. It felt like a golden opportunity.” – Akkshith Sukhija on joining Manpasand Ki Shaadi

On being part of a Rajshri Productions project, he shares with pride, “It truly feels like a dream come true to work with Rajshri. Growing up, I watched their iconic films and admired Salman Khan Sir’s performances in their movies. When I began my acting journey, I always hoped to associate with this banner one day. I still remember walking into their office as a fresher years ago — and now, six years later, returning there for my look test felt surreal. I haven’t met Sooraj Barjatya Sir yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. Being part of this legacy feels like a blessing.”

Revealing how he bagged the role, Akkshith explains, “Honestly, I wasn’t planning to take up a TV project at this point. I had been selective for a few months, focusing on some personal work. But when Rajshri’s CEO, Vishesh Sir, personally called me and affectionately addressed me as ‘Beta’, it immediately felt special. I didn’t know then that it was a replacement role, but when I learned more and watched the episodes, I understood what the character needed. I finally decided to take it up because it was a Rajshri show — that made all the difference.” – Akkshith Sukhija on joining Manpasand Ki Shaadi

Acknowledging Akshun’s contribution, he adds, “Akshun and Esha have done an incredible job together. I truly respect that. I just hope the audience and his fans give me a fair chance to showcase what I bring to the table. I know it’s a big responsibility, but I’m ready to take it on with full dedication.”

Describing his first day on set, Akkshith recalls, “I was a little nervous initially, but everyone on the team was so warm and welcoming. Esha Suryawanshi, especially, made sure I felt comfortable from the start. Usually, it takes me a while to open up, but the positivity on set made me feel at home instantly.”

Reflecting on his growth as an actor, Akkshith concludes, “I’ve learned a lot from my previous shows and my own mistakes. I’m more confident now, both as a performer and as a person. As Abhishek Dewan, I just want to give my best and make the audience feel connected to the story.”
