Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee Set to Reunite After 15 Years for Comedy Movie

After more than a decade, Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Anees Bazmee are coming together once again, rekindling a partnership that has delivered some of Bollywood’s most loved commercial entertainers. The actor–director duo, known for hits such as Welcome, Singh Is Kinng and Thank You—their last collaboration in 2011—is now preparing to join forces for a brand-new comedy project.

Confirming the development, Anees Bazmee revealed that the film is currently in the scripting stage and progressing steadily. He shared that the story is almost locked and, if all logistical aspects align smoothly, the project could go on floors in the near future. However, he admitted that emotional lows or creative blocks can make writing particularly challenging for him.

On the work front, Anees Bazmee was last seen directing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which featured Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit Nene, and went on to generate significant buzz.
