From the moment Haiwaan was announced, it has dominated headlines — largely because it brings together one of Bollywood’s most iconic on-screen duos: Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The two stars, loved for their comedic timing and action synergy in 90s cult favourites like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, last shared screen space in Tashan (2008).

In a refreshing twist, Akshay Kumar plays the antagonist, a choice that has already sparked tremendous excitement. Priyadarshan had previously hinted that Kumar immediately understood and supported the film’s vision, especially after earlier reports suggested several actors had declined the negative role.
Wrap-Up Celebrations Mark the End of an Intense Shoot
The film’s final day was marked by a warm gathering featuring Saif Ali Khan, Priyadarshan, and the crew. Photos from the wrap-up event show two beautifully designed “It’s a Wrap! Haiwaan” cakes. A clapboard displayed at the venue confirmed the final filming date — December 7, 2025 — along with a special acknowledgment for cinematographer Divakar Mani.

The final leg in Mumbai was particularly grueling. The team executed large-scale night shoots, including a rumoured multi-vehicle chase sequence filmed around Churchgate and Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) — one of the film’s most ambitious action set-ups.
A Major Film for Priyadarshan — His 99th Directorial Venture
With the shoot now wrapped, Haiwaan has moved into post-production and is targeting a 2026 theatrical release. The film lands between Priyadarshan’s upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla and the eagerly awaited Hera Pheri 3.
Notably, Haiwaan marks Priyadarshan’s 99th film as a director, adding monumental significance to the project.
