Director Amar Kaushik, who pioneered the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) with the blockbuster Stree, has finally spoken out regarding speculation that Aneet Padda replaced Kiara Advani in the upcoming film Shakti Shalini.
In a recent conversation with Filmygyan, Kaushik clarified that Kiara was never officially part of the project. “Kiara is a fantastic actor, and I’d love to collaborate with her someday. But in this case, nothing was ever confirmed. I’m not sure how these reports even started,” he said.
The filmmaker further explained how casting decisions evolve during a film’s development process. “When you start writing a story, you have a vision in mind. But as the narrative grows, you realize which actor fits the character best. When Saiyaara released, we were still developing the script of Shakti Shalini,” Amar shared.
When asked if Kiara had been finalized at any point, Kaushik dismissed the claims, stating, “No one was locked. We were simply exploring possibilities.
