Ananya Panday, who is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming romantic-comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri opposite Kartik Aaryan, has reportedly opted out of her next planned project, Choomantar. The film was initially expected to feature her alongside Stree 2 actor Abhay Varma, but fresh updates suggest that Ananya is no longer part of the cast.
Why Ananya Exited Choomantar
As per a recent report, the actress had to withdraw from the film due to a clash with the shooting schedule of Call Me Bae 2. Filming for Choomantar is slated to begin in January 2026, overlapping with the second season of Call Me Bae, which has already commenced production.
A source told Mid-Day, “The timelines collided, so both Ananya and the makers mutually decided to part ways, with hopes of collaborating soon.”
New Faces Likely to Join the Project
Following her rumoured exit, the casting has reportedly been reshuffled. Vash 2 star Janki Bodiwala and actress Sreeleela are now being considered to lead the film alongside Abhay Varma.

Kartik Aaryan on Working With Ananya Again
In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Kartik Aaryan spoke fondly about reuniting with Ananya for TMMTMTTM.
He shared, “We had a great time shooting, and that energy shows on screen. Ananya was a complete livewire on set. She’s going to surprise everyone. I think the audience will enjoy watching Ray and Rumi’s chemistry in this fun, refreshing rom-com.”
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is slated to hit theatres on December 25.
