Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, known for his heartwarming family entertainers, is all set to roll out his next big project — this time starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. The untitled film, backed by Rajshri Productions, Mahaveer Jain Films, and Anita Gurnani, will begin shooting on November 1, 2025, according to industry reports.
Described as a “romantic family entertainer,” the movie is expected to carry Barjatya’s signature blend of emotion, tradition, and values, similar to his previous hit Uunchai. This marks another collaboration between Sooraj Barjatya and producer Mahaveer Jain, who reportedly developed a close professional bond during Uunchai’s making. – Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh
A source close to the production revealed, “The film goes on floors on November 1. It’s a heartfelt family drama with Sooraj Barjatya’s trademark storytelling. Ayushmann and Sharvari lead the cast, bringing a fresh pairing to the big screen.”
Producer Mahaveer Jain continues to expand his cinematic slate. Following his successful projects like Naagzilla with Kartik Aaryan and Dharma Productions, Jain has lined up several ambitious ventures — including White, an international thriller helmed by Siddharth Anand and starring Vikrant Massey, and Side Heroes, co-produced with Imtiaz Ali, featuring Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Varun Sharma. – Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh
As for the leads, Ayushmann Khurrana will soon appear in Aditya Sarpotdar’s supernatural comedy Thamma, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Meanwhile, Sharvari Wagh, fresh off the success of Munjya, is gearing up for YRF’s high-octane spy thriller Alpha with Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.
With Sooraj Barjatya at the helm and a fresh pairing leading the narrative, this untitled family entertainer promises to be one of the most awaited films of 2026.
