Chiranjeevi Lodges Complaint Over Deepfake Obscene Videos
Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi has officially filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police after discovering that AI-generated and morphed pornographic videos using his likeness were circulating online. The actor took legal action on October 27, alleging that several digital platforms and websites had published and distributed deepfake content that falsely portrayed him in obscene situations.
According to reports, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Division has registered a case and begun an investigation under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. This development follows the actor’s recent ad-interim injunction from the City Civil Court, which was aimed at protecting his image and identity from unauthorized digital manipulation or misuse. – Chiranjeevi Lodges Complaint Over Deepfake Obscene Videos

In his complaint, Chiranjeevi detailed how artificial intelligence tools were used to fabricate explicit visuals, morphing his face and expressions into pornographic material without consent. He emphasized the malicious intent behind such deepfakes, calling them a serious violation of privacy and dignity. The actor noted that the easy accessibility and viral spread of this kind of fabricated media make the situation extremely grave and damaging.
The veteran star asserted that the incident was not an isolated case but part of a deliberate attempt to malign his reputation and undermine his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema and public welfare. Expressing deep concern, he said these manipulated videos have caused irreparable emotional and reputational harm, not only to him but also to his family and fans. – Chiranjeevi Lodges Complaint Over Deepfake Obscene Videos
Chiranjeevi has urged authorities to take swift criminal and technical action against those responsible for creating, uploading, and circulating the objectionable material. He also requested an immediate takedown and blocking of the videos across all social media and web platforms.
The actor’s decisive move sheds light on the growing menace of deepfake technology and its potential misuse in defamation and cyber exploitation. His case adds to the rising calls from public figures for stricter laws and digital safeguards to curb the unethical use of AI tools in manipulating personal identities.
This incident once again highlights the urgent need for comprehensive AI regulation and awareness, as the entertainment industry faces increasing threats from technology-driven impersonation and digital abuse.
