Recalling her initial struggles, Nikita revealed how dramatically life changed once she began pursuing acting seriously.
“I used to live in Colaba, and practically every audition took place in Andheri, Aaram Nagar,” she said. “In the beginning, it felt like my Colaba bubble had burst. I had barely crossed the Sea Link before that, so stepping into the real world was a shock.”
Seeing hundreds of dreamers from across the country also reshaped her perspective. “You meet people from every corner of India, all chasing the same dream. Nikita didn’t shy away from discussing the everyday challenges that came with being an aspiring actor.
“I struggled even with food in those days,” she said. “There were logistical issues everywhere—long days, multiple auditions, and sometimes returning home without landing anything. So I’d combine two or three tasks and treat the entire day like a field trip to Andheri.”
Finding Stability Early On
Despite the hurdles, Nikita considers herself fortunate for having a safety net.
“In my first year after Miss India, I already had a job with Zoom,” she shared. “Having a steady monthly income helped immensely. The Shah Rukh Khan Quote That Stayed With Her
Nikita also remembered a piece of advice she once heard in a Shah Rukh Khan interview—one that became a guiding principle during her early days.
“Shah Rukh said something like, ‘Your passion matters, but don’t be blinded by it. Stay realistic. Be philosophical—but first, get rich.’ That really stuck with me.”
