The music of Dhurandhar has played a major role in amplifying the film’s popularity, with several tracks becoming instant favourites. Among them, Shararat stood out for its vibrant choreography and seamless integration into the storyline. However, the song’s final casting came after a conscious creative decision that prioritised narrative balance over star power.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly, who designed the energetic dance number, recently revealed that Tamannaah Bhatia was initially his first choice. While conceptualising Shararat, Tamannaah’s name naturally came to his mind, given her strong screen presence and dance appeal. The idea was proposed to director Aditya Dhar, but it didn’t align with the film’s broader vision.

According to Vijay, Aditya felt that featuring a single high-profile star in the song could shift the audience’s attention away from the story. The concern was that the number might be perceived as an “item song,” making it more about the performer than the narrative moment. The director was clear that Shararat needed to feel like a part of the film’s world rather than a visual interruption. – Dhurandhar choreographer opens up on replacing Tamannaah Bhatia with Ayesha Khan and Krystle DSouza

To maintain that balance, Aditya opted for two performers instead of one. This approach ensured the focus remained on the ongoing events within the film, particularly the setting of a grand Karachi wedding where the song unfolds. The decision ultimately led to the casting of Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, whose combined presence added energy without overpowering the storyline. Vijay shared that this choice helped the song blend organically into the narrative flow.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues to enjoy strong box office momentum. The spy thriller stars Ranveer Singh as an undercover Indian operative infiltrating criminal networks in Pakistan’s Lyari region. The film also features Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt in key roles. Inspired by real events, the film’s gripping narrative and chart-topping music have together cemented its status as one of the year’s biggest successes.
