Exclusive: Star Plus’ Tu Dhadkan Main Dil
Star Plus’ musical drama Tu Dhadkan Main Dil, which launched on 23 June 2025 with extensive promotions, may be heading towards an early conclusion. Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary under Swastik Productions, the series follows the story of a gifted young singer named Dil, whose life takes a tragic turn, pushing her on a quest to reunite with her estranged father — the person she believes to be the true rhythm of her life. At its core, the show explores the emotional dynamics between the protagonist and her parents.
Despite the high expectations and an emotionally rich premise, the series struggled to deliver the impact it promised. The TRP ratings never managed to cross the critical 1.0 TVR mark, raising concerns for the channel.
According to exclusive sources, the makers and cast have been informed that the show’s journey might be cut short due to its underwhelming performance. The series marked the return of Sourabh Raaj Jain in the lead role, with Aaradhya Patel playing the titular character of Dil. The cast also featured Swati Sharma, Kavita Ghai, and several other well-known faces. Recently, we reported the replacement of Ashmita Jaggi (Natasha) with Khushi Misra stepping into the role.
Interestingly, Tu Dhadkan Main Dil is the second Hindi remake of the popular Bengali drama Potol Kumar Gaanwala. The first remake, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, produced by Nilanjana Purkayasstha and Gul Khan for Star Plus, became a massive hit. The enduring popularity of that earlier adaptation may have played a role in viewers not embracing this fresh version as expected.
