Veteran Bollywood icon Jeetendra recently graced the sets of Indian Idol 16 for a special episode under the show’s Yaadon Ki Baraat theme. The episode turned deeply emotional as the team dedicated a heartfelt tribute to the late superstar Dharmendra, Jeetendra’s dear friend of nearly five decades.
A Heartfelt Tribute to the He-Man of Bollywood
In a video shared by the channel, contestants performed timeless classics picturised on Dharmendra, celebrating his cinematic legacy. As the melodies filled the studio, Jeetendra became visibly emotional, remembering the bond he shared with Dharmendra—one built on friendship, respect, and decades of work together.
Judge Badshah too was overwhelmed with emotion and broke down on stage while honoring the legendary actor. Remembering Dharmendra with pride and affection, he said:
“Dharam paaji was the true soul of Punjab. It feels like we’ve lost that fragrance from our land. He was everyone’s ideal—everyone’s Dharam Paaji.”
Badshah further offered a prayerful message:
“Dharam ji, wherever you are, may you be happy and at peace.”
He concluded with one of Dharmendra’s favorite shayaris:
“Sab kuch paakar bhi, haasil-e-zindagi kuch bhi nahi,
Kambakkht jaan kyun jaati hai jaate hue.”
