Jitendra Kumar, best known for his relatable and heartwarming performances in Panchayat and Kota Factory, has taken a daring turn with his latest project, Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas. The actor, celebrated for his simple, grounded roles, now explores a much darker and more complex character in this intense Zee5 crime thriller.
Speaking about his transformation, Jitendra shared, “This was a massive shift for me. Nothing about this role resembles anything I’ve done before — it’s entirely different.” The actor revealed that the story draws inspiration from real-life incidents that left him stunned. “When I first heard the script, I assumed parts of it were dramatized. But everything was real — shockingly real — and that’s what kept me hooked throughout the process,” he said in an interview with India Today. – Jitendra Kumar on Bhagwat
Taking on a morally ambiguous character, Jitendra admitted he had long wanted to experiment with such shades. “As an actor, I’ve always wanted to be part of a crime thriller and play someone with a bit of darkness. Every day on set was full of enthusiasm and curiosity. I’m excited to see how audiences react to this version of me,” he added.
The actor also reflected on the beauty of unpredictability in cinema. “The real thrill of acting lies in the uncertainty. If you already know that something will work, it becomes mechanical.
