Mohit Chauhan Shares His Thoughts on AI and Remixes in Music
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mohit Chauhan spoke candidly about the increasing influence of artificial intelligence and remix culture in the Indian music industry. He emphasized that many remakes today serve commercial motives rather than creative exploration.
He explained,
“Mujhe lagta hai ki woh khaali business ke liye kiya jaata hai. Nahi toh ek gaane ko remake karne ka reason kya hai? Kuch bhi nahi hai.”
He added that simply altering instruments or adding new embellishments doesn’t change the essence of a song:
“Gaana toh wahi rehta hai. Uska original form hi best hota hai.”
Mohit also noted that modifying lyrics can disconnect listeners from the track they already love. While filmmakers may want to revive songs for cinematic purposes, he stressed that this follows a different business logic and doesn’t necessarily enhance the artistry.
He concluded that every song is unique in its original form, and instead of constantly reworking existing hits, the focus should shift toward creating fresh, original music.
