Actress Mona Singh, who recently appeared in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, has spoken candidly about stepping away from television. Best known for her breakthrough role in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin back in 2003, Mona shared that she has no intention of returning to daily soaps, as she feels she has already explored everything the medium had to offer.

Mona pointed out that the hectic schedule of television often leaves little room for personal downtime. She noted how daily shows now run seven days a week, making it difficult for actors to maintain a balanced life. For her, the flexibility of films and digital platforms has proven to be a more fulfilling setup.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Mona explained why the OTT space aligns better with her working style. “Working on a web show for three months is ideal. You wrap up, take a breather, and then move on to a new character with fresh energy. OTT suits me perfectly. Television, especially for leads, demands crazy timelines. Earlier, episodes aired Monday to Thursday, but now they run all week. I honestly wonder how actors manage a personal life,” she said. – Mona Singh Reveals Why She Quit Television

Mona also revealed that leaving television was a well-thought-out decision. “I’ve respectfully moved on from TV. I feel there’s nothing new left for me to explore there—I’ve done daily soaps, reality shows, and hosting. It wasn’t an easy switch, but I waited for roles that truly excited me. It took patience, but it paid off. I’m doing films as well, with three releases lined up next year. I’m enjoying this balance between movies and OTT,” she shared.

The actress made her Bollywood debut with the blockbuster 3 Idiots in 2009 and later appeared in Amavas, Laal Singh Chaddha, Munjya, and more. Her digital journey has also been impressive, with acclaimed performances in Yeh Meri Family, M.O.M: Mission Over Mars, Made In Heaven 2, Kaala Paani, Mistry, and The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.
