Following the release of Stree 2, the next addition to the Maddock horror universe is expected to be Munjya 2. Reports suggest there will be significant crossovers between Bhediya 2 and Munjya 2, making their releases closely timed for maximum impact.

Aditya Sarpotdar, the acclaimed director of the original Munjya, recently hinted at the potential for a sequel. In a conversation with reporters, Sarpotdar shared his excitement about exploring the story further, promising that fans can expect a more evolved version of the ghostly character at the heart of the film.

Sarpotdar and his team collaborated with DNEG for over a year to develop the mischievous and eerie character using advanced CGI techniques. He believed that the haunted tale would strike a chord with viewers, much like the success of Kantara, which drew from regional folklore. “Munjya gave me confidence that people would connect with its story, and Maddock Films’ support was a huge boost for us,” he added.

Sharvari, who played a key role in Munjya, is equally thrilled about her involvement in the project. With her next major role in YRF’s Spy Universe, she feels that her career is on an upward trajectory. “I am immensely grateful for the opportunities I’m receiving. Being part of two major franchises—Maddock’s horror universe and YRF’s Spy Universe—so early in my career is a dream come true,” she said.

For the rest of the cast, including Verma, the film was more than just a job—it was a “blessing.” “I waited one and a half years for this role, and it was well worth it,” he shared, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work on a project as exciting and unique as Munjya.
