Neha Mehta
Popular television actress Neha Mehta, best known for her role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is currently seen in a refreshing and heartfelt avatar in Sony SAB’s show Itti Si Khushi. The actress celebrated a working Diwali this year, busy shooting for her ongoing project but filled with cherished memories of past celebrations.
In a recent conversation, Neha opened up about her festive experiences and the emotional significance of Diwali in her life. Reminiscing about her childhood, she shared,
“My mother made every Diwali unforgettable with her poojas, festive snacks, and enthusiasm for cleaning and decorating the house. Her devotion and spirituality created an atmosphere of pure joy. She worked so hard to make every moment special for us. Sadly, cancer took her away, and Diwali hasn’t felt the same since.”
Despite the loss, Neha continues to celebrate the festival with grace and gratitude.
“Now, Diwali for us is simply about lighting diyas and spending time together. My father is my strength, and I always try to be with him during the festival. I also enjoy celebrating with my younger sister,” she said with warmth.
Neha believes that the essence of Diwali lies in spreading goodness and hope. She emphasized,
“We should live by example—embracing light and rejecting darkness in all its forms. The true victory of good over evil starts within us.”
Speaking about womanhood, the actress reflected on the power and responsibility that come with it.
“Being born as a girl is a blessing and a responsibility. As women, we shape future generations by instilling strong values. We must teach our children to live in the present and let go of the past. Every woman should be the heroine of her own story and inspire others to do the same.”
Before signing off, Neha also revealed her love for traditional Gujarati treats.
“I’m a complete foodie, especially during festivals! I love Gujiya, Sev Gathiya, Laddoos, Chakli, and Farsi Puri—they’re my absolute favourites,” she said with a smile.
Through her words and outlook, Neha Mehta beautifully reminds us that Diwali isn’t just about lights and sweets—it’s about resilience, love, and the inner glow that keeps us moving forward.
