Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are set to share the screen in a new romantic comedy titled Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota, known for his work on Dasvi (2022) featuring Abhishek Bachchan. Initially considered for a thriller, the pair ultimately chose to team up for this lighter, romance-centered project. The film explores a relationship between two very different personalities: Malhotra plays a sophisticated, wealthy business tycoon from Delhi, while Kapoor portrays a spirited artist from Kerala, each character bringing unique cultural elements to the story.

In their first on-screen collaboration, Malhotra and Kapoor will dive into this cross-cultural love story, where opposites attract despite contrasting backgrounds and viewpoints. Pre-production for the film has begun, with shooting slated to start in December. The first segment will reportedly be filmed in Delhi, focusing on Malhotra’s character, before the crew moves to Kerala for scenes involving Kapoor. Sheetal Sharma, the film’s costume designer known for her work on Munjya and Stree 2, has completed initial look tests, preparing wardrobes that reflect each character’s background. The film’s title, Param Sundari, also shares its name with a popular song from Mimi (2021), sparking curiosity about a potential cameo by Kriti Sanon, although no official announcement has been made.

The movie is expected to wrap filming by February 2025, and both actors are excited to bring this unique blend of romance and culture to audiences. While Malhotra is recognized for hits like Shershaah and Kapoor & Sons, Kapoor has established herself with films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and the recently released Devara Part 1. In a previous interview, Malhotra emphasized his thoughtful approach to choosing projects, noting, “I prefer to take my time and ensure quality over rushing into roles.”

This promising new collaboration between Malhotra and Kapoor has fans eager to see their chemistry and the dynamic cultural elements in Param Sundari.
