I was aware of the Shah Bano case since it originated in Indore, my hometown. When I learned that a film was being made on this subject, I was immediately drawn to it. I’ve always admired stories that highlight women’s empowerment, and this one reflects the courage of a woman who refused to give up her dignity.”
A Deeply Personal Preparation Journey
To ensure authenticity, Paridhi dedicated herself to extensive preparation. “I joined Urdu workshops to refine my language and pronunciation. For my audition, I was given an emotional scene with Shah Bano. Initially, I couldn’t capture the depth I wanted. So, I began writing letters to Shah Bano as Iram — expressing her emotions and inner world. After three days of this exercise, when I auditioned again, everything felt organic. We had a heartfelt conversation about it, and that moment revealed a very human side to him.”
