Rajkumar Hirani’s son, Veer Hirani, is gearing up for his first major digital project, and the excitement around his debut is already building. As per fresh reports, acclaimed filmmaker Shakun Batra is set to introduce Veer in his next OTT venture, which will feature the newcomer in the lead role. Joining him as the female lead is reportedly actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has been in high demand across streaming platforms.

According to industry sources, preparations for Shakun Batra’s next project are already underway. A report by Bollywood Hungama states:
“The prep for Shakun’s upcoming film is progressing rapidly. The team is keeping most details confidential for now, including the official title. The makers are targeting to begin shooting in the first quarter of 2026.”
On the casting front, insiders reveal that Wamiqa Gabbi is the top choice for the film’s leading lady. The report adds:
“Wamiqa has shown strong interest in the role and is currently coordinating her dates. Working with Shakun is considered a dream opportunity, given his unique storytelling style and strong focus on performance. The formal paperwork with Wamiqa is expected to be finalised within the next two weeks.”

Veer Hirani’s Big Bollywood Launch Also in the Works
Interestingly, this OTT debut isn’t Veer Hirani’s only high-profile project. A previous report by PeepingMoon claimed that Veer is also set to star in a romantic drama produced by Hansal Mehta’s banner, True Story Films.
The film comes with a powerhouse creative team — celebrated Malayalam filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery will be directing, marking his debut in Hindi cinema. Production is expected to begin in February 2026, with casting for the film’s heroine still underway.
Adding to the excitement, the film will feature music by AR Rahman, signalling a visually stunning and emotionally layered love story.
