According to industry insiders, People’s Media Factory and Mythri Movie Makers have finalized Rajkumar Santoshi to helm Jaat 2, the sequel to the hit action drama. The decision came after the original director Gopichand Maneni became unavailable due to prior commitments. Given Santoshi’s mastery over action and emotion-driven storytelling, the producers and Sunny Deol were reportedly unanimous in choosing him for the sequel.
A source close to the production shared, “The makers are determined to expand Jaat into a full-fledged franchise. The filmmaker, known for classics like Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak, has reportedly been offered a whopping ₹15 crore as his directorial fee — making it the highest paycheck of his career so far. The formal paperwork and contract finalization are expected to be completed within the next month.
