Actor Raveena Tandon has opened up about the public’s unrelenting curiosity surrounding her past engagement to Akshay Kumar, decades after the two parted ways. Speaking on the ANI Podcast, the Mohra star shared her amusement at how the topic continues to resurface despite the passage of time and both having moved on personally and professionally.
When asked about people still Googling details about her engagement, Raveena laughed and quipped,
“I’ve forgotten about it! It’s funny how people still remember something from so long ago.”
Reflecting on the enduring fascination, she added,
“Maybe because we were really popular after Mohra. Even today, when we meet socially, we talk and there’s no awkwardness. Everyone moves on — girls in colleges change their boyfriends every week these days. But somehow, one broken engagement from the 90s is what people can’t let go of. I really don’t get it. People have divorces, they move on — so what’s the big deal?”

Raveena also dismissed old tabloid rumours claiming Akshay dated women who looked like her. She said calmly,
“I never paid attention to that kind of gossip. Why spoil your peace of mind? It’s best not to read things that only raise your blood pressure.”
Now happily married to film distributor Anil Thadani for over two decades, Raveena continues to balance her family life and career. Their daughter Rasha Thadani recently made her film debut with Azaad.
Interestingly, Raveena and Akshay are set to share screen space once again in the upcoming ensemble comedy Welcome to the Jungle, rekindling nostalgia among fans who still remember their iconic chemistry from the 1990s.
