Rhea Chakraborty Shares She Consulted a Gynaecologist for Egg Freezing
Rhea Chakraborty is opening up about one of the most intimate crossroads many women face in their 30s — the pressure to choose between career ambitions, societal expectations, and the biological clock. On her podcast Chapter 2, the actor revealed that she has started seriously considering egg freezing and has already taken the first medical step.
“I’m 33, and I recently visited a gynaecologist to explore egg freezing. It’s something I’m actively thinking about,” she told Huma Qureshi during their conversation on her YouTube channel.

Rhea spoke honestly about the mental conflict so many women experience.
“It’s such a strange phase — your body keeps reminding you that it’s time to have kids, but your mind says you already have a baby… your work, your brand, your business… and you need to raise that first.”

Egg Freezing Isn’t Glamorous, But It’s an Option
Rhea previously shared similar thoughts in an interview with Humans of Bombay, where she stated that she doesn’t believe in a fixed “correct age” for marriage and would be comfortable settling down much later.
She emphasized that society pushes women far more aggressively toward marriage and motherhood, largely because of reproductive expectations — a pressure she feels needs to change.
Speaking about egg freezing, Rhea didn’t sugarcoat the experience. She described the process as physically demanding and far from the romanticized version people imagine. Still, she believes that if women can benefit from the technology, they should at least consider it.

Rhea made it clear that she is not ready to step into marriage or motherhood anytime soon. Her career remains her main priority.
She revealed that many of her friends have already chosen egg freezing in their late 20s or early 30s. Reflecting on her own path, she admitted that delaying motherhood feels like the more practical and empowering choice for her at this stage.
At 32, Rhea says she still has a long list of personal and professional milestones she wants to achieve before embracing parenthood.
