Over a decade after redefining Indian sci-fi with Ra.One, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has set the internet abuzz by hinting at a possible sequel to the 2011 blockbuster. The original film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Rampal, was a pioneering experiment for Bollywood—blending video game elements, advanced visual effects, and emotional storytelling.

During a special fan event in Mumbai celebrating his 60th birthday, SRK reflected on the film’s legacy and hinted that G.One might make a comeback. He shared,

“Ra.One was a new kind of film and very close to my heart. Anubhav (Sinha) worked extremely hard on it. I hoped it would start a new trend in Indian cinema.”

The actor went on to explain that he believed Ra.One was ahead of its time and might have been received even more warmly if it had released today.

“If I make a film, since I’ve been blessed with this position, I feel I should make projects that inspire others to push boundaries. With Ra.One, I wanted people to say, ‘It’s not just a superhero movie; it’s a step forward for visual effects in India.’ It may not have started that trend immediately, but as a film, I think audiences still loved it,” he said.

When asked about revisiting the superhero saga, SRK left fans thrilled with a subtle yet hopeful hint.

“If Anubhav ever decides to remake or continue the story, I’d love to return as G.One. We worked very hard on it, and if the time feels right, we might just do it again. It’s much easier now anyway,” he added with a smile.

A Grand 60th Birthday Celebration

The event took place at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir auditorium in Bandra, where Shah Rukh met over 300 fans who gathered to celebrate the special occasion. The actor cut a three-tier cake topped with a golden crown, symbolizing his reign as Bollywood’s beloved “King Khan.” He was also joined by his longtime manager Pooja Dadlani, who shares the same birthday.
