It’s now official—Shilpa Shinde is set to reprise her iconic role as Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. After days of speculation, the confirmation has come directly from Shubhangi Atre, who has gracefully stepped down from the show after nearly a decade.

Shubhangi addressed the news through an Instagram story, where she reshared a report about her exit and captioned it with a simple but meaningful “#gratitude.” She later spoke about her decision, calling her departure a “blessing in disguise.”  – Shubhangi Atre Confirms Her Exit

Reflecting on her long journey as Angoori Bhabhi, Shubhangi shared,
“I always promised Mrs. Kohli that my journey would start with pride and end with dignity—and that’s exactly how it has happened. There’s no point discussing the reason behind the replacement. As an artiste, I want to challenge myself with new characters and opportunities. I’m in full fighter mode now, focusing on my daughter and my work.”

She also revealed how emotional the final shoot days were for her:

Meanwhile, as Shilpa Shinde returns to the sitcom, Shubhangi expressed nothing but goodwill. In an interview with Bombay Times, she said,
“I told my mother that Shilpa left the show shortly after joining—it was like she handed me a newborn baby. I nurtured it for ten years, and now I’m passing it back with love and values. I wholeheartedly wish Shilpa and the entire team all the success.”

Shubhangi Atre first stepped into the role after Shilpa Shinde’s exit in 2016 and went on to portray Angoori Bhabhi for almost ten years, becoming an integral part of the show’s identity. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, which premiered in March 2015, is now nearing its tenth year on air and continues to remain a fan-favourite sitcom.
