Actor and producer Shweta Tripathi is venturing into new creative territory with Nava, her debut horror production under her home banner Bandarful Films. The project is being developed in collaboration with Kowatanda Films India, expanding her slate of daring, culturally grounded stories. This marks her second project as a producer after the critically praised queer drama Mujhe Jaan Na Kaho Meri Jaan, starring Tilottama Shome, reinforcing her drive to champion meaningful and unconventional narratives.
Set in the mysterious, atmospheric landscapes of the Sundarbans, Nava unravels the tale of Tara, who returns to her ancestral home only to be drawn into a spine-chilling, age-old enigma. The film delves into river deities, buried family histories and the fragile boundary between folklore and lived reality. Reflecting on stepping into the horror genre as a producer, Shweta Tripathi said,
