Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has finally spoken out about the swirling rumours surrounding her recent physical transformation. With social media abuzz over speculation that celebrities are turning to weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, the Baahubali star has set the record straight — her transformation is all-natural.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Tamannaah explained that her body type has always been on the leaner side, emphasizing that she has simply learned to embrace her natural curves with confidence. “I’ve been in front of the camera since I was 15, and people have literally seen me grow up on screen, so there’s nothing to hide. Through my late 20s, I had a slender body — that’s always been me. She went on to point out that while some audiences in the Hindi film industry might perceive her current look as a shift, her fans in the South have seen her in many forms. “This might seem new to the Hindi audience, but I’m nearing 100 films. People have seen me in countless avatars — and though I’ve usually been on the leaner side, it’s natural for a woman’s body to evolve. Every few years, we meet a different version of ourselves,” she added.
Reflecting on her experience during the pandemic, Tamannaah shared that COVID-19 affected her physically and made it harder to maintain her weight. “COVID hit my body really hard. Keeping my weight stable like in my 20s became challenging. I love food — rice, roti, dal — and I didn’t want to feel guilty about eating. Talking about body acceptance and embracing change, she said, “Inflammation is real — every woman knows her body shifts with time. I experienced that in my early 30s, and I’ve realized my curves are not going anywhere. I’m Sindhi — my hips and waist are part of my bone structure! I’ll never chase unrealistic global beauty standards because being Indian is aspirational. People love our curves, and it’s time we celebrate that.”
