Cast as Vrinda, her character recently made its debut on Star Plus, capturing viewers’ attention with a memorable scene where she shields the sacred Tulsi plant during a rainstorm—a subtle yet powerful nod to Smriti Irani’s legendary portrayal of Tulsi Virani.

Vrinda vs Tulsi: Tanisha Reflects on the Similarities and Differences
When asked about comparisons with Smriti Irani’s character, Tanisha acknowledged the similarities while also shedding light on the contrast. “Vrinda, just like Tulsi, is deeply rooted in righteousness and carries wisdom. In fact, the name Vrinda itself is another name for Tulsi,” she explained. “She’s intelligent, principled, and has a strong moral compass.”
However, Tanisha clarified that Vrinda is still on a journey. “Unlike Tulsi, who was powerful and mature from the start, Vrinda is still growing into that strength. She has an innocent side that sets her apart. Ektaa ma’am and our director were very clear in telling me that Vrinda’s strength will develop with time. Tulsi had already endured and evolved—Vrinda is just starting.” – Tanisha Mehta
Tanisha’s First Encounter with Smriti Irani: A Memorable Moment
The actress also recalled the nerve-wracking moment she met Smriti Irani for the first time during the show’s narration session. “It was a big day—meeting both Ektaa ma’am and Smriti ma’am together. I was overwhelmed and incredibly nervous,” she admitted.
Despite the anxiety, Tanisha gathered the courage to introduce herself. “Smriti ma’am was so warm and humble. She instantly put me at ease. When I walked up to her, she actually introduced herself to me, which was such a surreal moment. Her grounded nature really stood out,” Tanisha shared with a smile.
Having already filmed her first scene with Smriti, Tanisha spoke highly of the experience, adding, “She brings such calm energy to the set. Working with her felt comfortable and collaborative. She really helps her co-actors feel at home.” – Tanisha Mehta
