Centered on 21-year-old Tanvi Raina (Shubhangi Dutt), the story follows her determined journey to honour her late soldier-father by saluting the national flag at Siachen—a mission that’s both ambitious and deeply emotional.
Despite its good intentions, the film often confines Tanvi to society’s conventional expectations rather than letting her individuality shine. Her struggle for acceptance is framed more as a pursuit of “normality” than an exploration of her unique strengths. This creates an emotional disconnect, even as the narrative tries to inspire.
Supported by a strong ensemble—Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Arvind Swami, and Nassar—the film benefits from heartfelt performances and breathtaking Lansdowne landscapes captured beautifully by Keiko Nakahara. However, the screenplay lacks nuance, leaning on simplistic storytelling, overly long scenes, and occasionally manipulative emotional beats.
Shubhangi Dutt’s debut performance is sincere but inconsistent, at times shifting abruptly between vulnerability and confidence. While the film is visually appealing and sprinkled with gentle, touching moments, it struggles to deliver profound insight into Tanvi’s inner world.
