A few days prior, PETA India had written an open letter addressed to Salman Khan, urging him to persuade the show’s creators to release Gadhraj. PETA India also suggested that Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte, Gadhraj’s owner, should consider surrendering the donkey to their care, allowing it to live in a sanctuary with other rescued animals.

As prey animals, donkeys are naturally nervous, and the chaotic environment on set, with its lights, sounds, and constant movement, would be distressing for them.
