Actor Emraan Hashmi, who is busy promoting his upcoming film HAQ alongside Yami Gautam, recently opened up about his cameo in Aryan Khan’s debut project The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor discussed his thoughts on the show, his son’s reaction to his role, and a missed opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan.

Reflecting on Aryan Khan’s directorial venture, Emraan called the show “politically incorrect” but refreshingly bold. Sharing his reaction, he said, “You know, the first episode takes some time to get you in. But once you’re hooked, it’s like wow—this is something completely different. It’s so politically incorrect. It should have been released in cinemas. I’m telling you, it would have done ₹600–700 crore at the box office.” – Emraan Hashmi Says The Ba***ds of Bollywood

The actor, who appeared in a memorable cameo as an ‘intimacy coach,’ revealed that his son wasn’t exactly a fan of his role. Laughing about his son’s reaction, Emraan shared, “He was a little embarrassed. He kept saying, ‘Dad, come on! Intimacy coach?’ He laughs about it now, but I know he found it awkward at first.

During the chat, Emraan also spoke about his long-standing wish to collaborate with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The Awarapan actor revealed that there was once a chance for them to share the screen, but the project never materialized. “I worked with him as a producer—Mr. SRK, during Bard of Blood. There was an opportunity to do a film together that didn’t work out, but I hope it happens in the future,” he said.- Emraan Hashmi Says The Ba***ds of Bollywood

When asked to reveal the name of the film, the actor playfully replied, “I can’t tell you that,” before breaking into laughter.

For those unfamiliar, Emraan Hashmi starred in the 2019 Netflix espionage thriller Bard of Blood, which was produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The two even appeared together in a special promotional video for the series.

With HAQ gearing up for release, fans are once again excited to see Emraan Hashmi bring depth and intensity to the screen — and perhaps, someday, witness the long-awaited Emraan–SRK collaboration he’s been hoping for.
